FLORIDA DEMOCRATIC PARTY CONGRATULATES CONGRESSIONAL NOMINEES
TALLAHASSEE, FL — Tonight, Democratic voters across Florida chose the congressional nominees who will carry the Party’s banner into November.
“Congratulations to every Democrat who won their primary tonight, and thank you to every candidate who put their name on the ballot in Florida this year,” said Florida Democratic Party Chair Nikki Fried. “Running for office in this state takes nerve. Every one of these campaigns knocked doors, made calls, and met voters where they’re at. That work does not disappear tonight. It becomes the foundation for November.
“Republicans redrew this map because they saw what we saw last year: Democrats swung a red district by 20 points and flipped Escambia County blue for the first time in decades. Instead of listening to voters, Republicans tried to rig the elections. Our nominees are running because Floridians are getting squeezed and Republicans are out of answers. Rent, insurance, and grocery costs keep climbing while the wealthy and well-connected get special favors. After 30 years of Republican rule, Floridians have had enough.”
The Florida Democratic Party also congratulates our incumbents Congressman Darren Soto (CD-09), Congresswoman Kathy Castor (CD-14), Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (CD-20), Congresswoman Lois Frankel (CD-23), and Congressman Jared Moskowitz (CD-25), who head into the general election with the united support of Florida Democrats, and Congressman Maxwell Frost (CD-10), who returns to Congress in November for a third term.
